Transformational Insights Tool

creating leadership awareness

CORE-IR© - Impact 360© Tool  - Transformational Insights©

JS-International has developed a proprietary 360-degree feedback tool informed by years of working with thousands of leadership teams over the past 20 years.  This tool is called Impact 360©  and is based on our leadership philosophy that is called CORE-IR ©.   CORE-IR stands for Collaborate, Ownership, Respect and Engagement, together with Innovation and Reflectivity.  The tool can be used for individual leaders, leadership teams and collectively for leaders in organisations.

CORE-IR© stands for
Collaborate
Ownership
Respect
Engagement
Innovation
Reflectivity

CORE-IR© leadership is defined as the leader´s capacity to:

Create the conditions that foster faster and more effective collaboration by building strong horizontal as well as vertical relationships

Drive accountability within the business

Enhance respect within and between teams enabling diverse groups of people to work together

Use a business-wide lens, rather than a siloed team lens, creating a purposeful organisation that engages and motivates followers to succeed toward bigger and more purposeful goals

Create a safe space for continuous learning and innovation to happen

Giving 360 degree feedback helps individual leaders and leadership teams gain new perspectives and enables them to engage employees in a very practical way.  The process can also give information to the organisation about the collective leadership and their needs in relation to development activities.

Deploying the learnings and outcomes of CORE-IR© have time and again proven successful in creating the conditions for higher people engagement. With an increased and more passionate engagement, people perform more effectively and willingly give their discretionary effort, which is key to achieving demanding business and organisational goals.

Why are CORE-IR© behaviours important now?

There has never been a greater need to Collaborate. As businesses strive to foster growth and innovation, are charged to make substantial investment, and at the same time cut-costs and have common standards, they will need to search for solutions to do this in an accelerated way. Incremental change is no longer acceptable. Rather than doing this alone, businesses may seek out joint ventures, conduct cross-industry projects, foster partnerships and enter fully into the spirit of “co-opetition”. Leaders who are skilled at collaboration will spur businesses to lead into the next normal.

Collaboration enables leaders to harness diverse perspectives, skills and experiences, leading to more innovative solutions and better problem-solving.  It breaks down silos, facilitates knowledge sharing and enhances team cohesion.

The siren call for resilience has been made in many articles. However, this can only be part of the story. Leaders will need to be willing to learn, build teams, have the stamina to succeed and see initiatives from planning through to execution. End to end projects will be even more key to deliver business success meaning leaders will need to be willing to be accountable for more than they are responsible for. This is about Ownership. Leaders who demonstrate Ownership inspire their teams to take initiatives, make decisions confidently and pursue excellence. This sense of personal investment in the success of projects and the business as whole, drives higher levels of commitment and motivation, leading to better performance.

Things are hard at work and at home. The expectation is to be available much more than in the past. Location is irrelevant, working from anywhere (WFA) is the “new norm”. The other 5G (five generations in the workforce) are still critical. Diversity matters. According to a recent article by Boston Consulting Group, businesses with more diverse leadership teams deliver larger profit margins. Leaders, therefore, need to be able to Respect and leverage generational and other differences, Respect boundaries and Respect and empathise with difficulties that people face. Respect is the cornerstone of a positive organisational culture.  It ensures that all team members feel valued and understood, regardless of their background or role with the company.   Leaders who show Respect foster an environment of trust and psychological safety, where employees are more likely to speak up, express their ideas, take risks and admit mistakes.

Leaders who can Engage in potentially polarised circumstances and create conditions that encourage people to give their discretionary effort will be key in fostering businesses to succeed. Engaged leaders are fully present and committed to their roles, modelling the behaviour they wish to see in their teams. Their passion is infectious, motivating their teams to also engage deeply with their work and they help their teams to find purpose in their work.

These competencies are not only essential on their own but also synergise to create a more dynamic and effective leadership style.   Collaboration and Respect build the foundation for a trusting and open team environment.   Ownership and Engagement ensure that leaders and their teams are committed to their roles and to business success.   Together, these competencies help leaders navigate the complexities of the modern workplace, drive continuous improvement and foster a culture that is adaptable, innovative and resilient.

The dynamic cycle of action, reflection, learning and innovation is what keeps organisations competitive and relevant in a rapidly changing world.  Together these competencies ensure that an organisation is not just capable of generating innovative ideas, but is also adept at implementing them effectively and learning from the process. Innovation is the natural outcome of a culture that values and demonstrates collaboration, ownership, respect and engagement.  These conditions encourage risk-taking, experimentation and the pursuit of novel solutions. Innovation thrives in environments where diverse ideas can collide and combine in new ways.   Reflectivity requires an environment where all contributions are valued and considered, enabling teams to critically evaluate their actions, learn from successes and failures, and make informed decisions.   Being a reflective leader ensures that the collaborative efforts, sense of ownership, respectful interactions and engagement levels are continually assessed and improved upon.

How does the process work?

JS-International contacts the individual leader or leadership team(s) to request the contact information of the people nominated by the leader to give feedback.

Our CORE-IR© questionnaire is sent to the nominees directly by JS-International.   Once all the feedback has been received, JS-International provides a personal report for each leader and team, and this report, detailing their feedback in graphic and written form is accompanied by a Guide.

We are able to provide a summary for each team and/or a collective analysis for all leaders who have a completed 360 analysis.  This gives a comprehensive view of development needs at a team or organisational level.
