JS-International's 5-Step Learning Process
At JS-International we really believe in the power of
people learning for themselves. We, therefore, equip people who come on our
programmes to learn how to learn. This is a essential capability and can be
applied to the past, present and future.
We believe this is another way in which we add value to our
clients - the benefit to you is that you take away a process that you can
apply to your own organisational context, indeed to any aspect of your life.
We are by nature learning animals, everyone has an innate desire to make progress,
so we are convinced this is the most useful life skill to have.
We help you turn the fear of doing something wrong into the
thrill of doing something useful or feel the fear and do it anyway!
Our 5-Step process is summarised below:
1. Motivation
For what purpose do you want to learn this?
What are the intentions for all your stakeholders?
2. Managing your state
What is the best attitude for you to have?
How will you create this?
What is the best learning environment that you need to create for yourself?
3. Engagement
How will you access and store the learning? Do you need to
see, hear, feel, taste or smell it?
What behaviours, skills, beliefs, values do you need to have and demonstrate?
Who are you when you have learnt it?
4. Confirmation
Confirm your learning three ways (ensure it is "in the
muscle") e.g.
Rehearse it mentally
See it demonstrated
Practise it
5. Reassurance
Measure your progress
Teach someone else
